‘Arey Yayavar Rahega Yaad?’- Agyeya’s multi-faceted travelogue

 


The travelogue, Arey Yayavar rahega yaad written by Agyeya is worthy of canonisation in Hindi travel literature. It is a treasure of accounts which vastly encompasses the history, geography and politics of Indian subcontinent around the time of independence. It was published in 1953. The travelogue is divided into eight chapters.

Rangey Raghav's 'Tufanon ke beech'- an authentic yet sensitive reportage on Bengal famine

The Bengal famine of 1942-44 was one of the worst human-made disasters of the modern history because of which 2.1 to 3 million people lost their lives not only due to starvation but also from various diseases. Multiple researchers and analysts, including Amartya Sen, have pointed out that the famine resulted from the wartime policies of the then British PM Winston Churchill of not allocating enough food grains to the drought hit region and instead exporting them to Britain which was engulfed in the second world war at the time.

'अरे यायावर रहेगा याद?'- अज्ञेय का बहुआयामी यात्रा-संस्मरण

 


1953 में प्रकाशित अज्ञेय द्वारा लिखा गया यात्रा-संस्मरण, अरे यायावर रहेगा याद? हिंदी साहित्य के इतिहास में संग्रहणीय है।  आठ अध्याय में विभाजित यह कृति एक महत्वपूर्ण दस्तावेज है जो भारतीय उपमहाद्वीप के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के समय के इतिहास,  भूगोल, और राजनीति को समग्रता से समेटे हुए है। यह यात्रा-संस्मरण अज्ञेय के अनुभवों का संग्रह है जो उन्होंने द्वितीय विश्व-युद्ध के अंत और स्वतंत्रता-संग्राम के समय में अपनी यात्राओं के  दौरान प्राप्त किए थे।
